Vendège is the musical project of Thibault Marchal.

Through a handmade music built around long minimalist electronic passages, enriched by numerous acoustic instruments and textures, he tells the story of his own small imaginary worlds, where the past and the present subtly collide, indirectly evoking his perspective as a young adult looking back on his childhood.

One can sometimes hear the influence of the artists who have shaped and nurtured his musical sensitivity, such as Björk, Múm, Sigur Rós, The Notwist and Sufjan Stevens.

His instrumentation is diverse: piano, vintage keyboards, Swedish drum machines, and a collection of instruments gathered around the world: xylophones, glockenspiels, steel drums, African thumb pianos, bells, shruti box, harmonium, charango, Tibetan singing bowls… He regularly records sounds of all kinds, which he transforms and textures before incorporating them into his music.

On stage, he is soon joined by Doriane Ayxandri on cello, harp, vocals, and other acoustic instruments (glockenspiels, tube table, sansula…), and his two brothers: Mathéo Bourgeois on electro acoustic percussions and Tom Bourgeois on guitars. Other musicians sometimes expand the lineup: bass clarinet, clarinets, violins, saxophones, oud, and more.

Vendège performs extensively in France and abroad (London, Brussels, Geneva, Amsterdam, Berlin, Reykjavik, São Paulo, Porto Alegre…), and creates, composes and performs music for several immersive and sensory performances combining music, light and video.
